Deadline to Protect Capacity Building Funding Extended to February 19
The deadline to sign onto the national letter in support of the Section 4 Capacity Building for Community Development and Affordable Housing (Section 4) program has been extended to tomorrow, February 19.
Section 4 strengthens low-income communities across the nation by providing critical support to local nonprofit organizations that develop affordable housing, finance small businesses, revitalize commerical corridors, and help address local healthcare, childcare, education, and safety needs. Despite this successful track record, President Obama proposed to essentially eliminate Section 4 in the FY 2017 budget.
In response, Enterprise, LISC, and Habitat for Humanity have launched a national sign on letter to urge Congress to preserve Section 4 and ensure that it is fully funded at no less than $35 million.
We encourage all national, state, and local organizations, government officials, and advocates to sign the letter and share this Action Alert on social media.
Additional resources–including Section 4 Success Stories and a Section 4 Fact Sheet–are available on Enterprise’s Section 4 webpage.
Thank you for your advocacy.
