|Using geographic data is becoming more important as federal programs increasingly focus on increasing access to opportunity. In this complimentary webinar, speakers will provide an introduction to opportunity mapping and outline its importance in developing more equitable policies based on research from NHC’s newest brief, "Opportunity Mapping."
Made possible by a grant from the Open Society Foundations, the brief includes a short history of opportunity mapping, its relevance to federal policies, and discusses some resources for organizations interested in using geographic data.
Webinar panelists include: NHC’s Brian Stromberg, author of the brief; Jillian Olinger from the Kirwan Institute, a leader in opportunity mapping; and Dan Pontious from the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, which recently completed an extensive and collaborative opportunity mapping project.
