Gov. Fallin Comments on Election of New House Speaker, Senate President Pro Tem

Governor Mary Fallin made the following statements after Rep. Charles McCall was formally elected speaker of the House of Representatives and Sen. Mike Schulz was formally elected president pro tem of the Senate:

“I am confident Charles McCall will be an effective and hard-working speaker of the House of Representatives. I look forward to working with him as we pursue policies to help create jobs and make state government more efficient.”

“Mike Schulz is a dedicated leader who previously earned the respect of his fellow senators as majority floor leader. I look forward to working with him as Senate president pro tem to make Oklahoma a stronger, more prosperous state for our residents to work and raise a family.”

Since Oklahoma is facing an estimated $870M budget shortfall in 2017, it is more important than ever that our members make advocacy for affordable housing a priority. Please let us know if you have a personal relationship with Speaker McCall or Senate Pro Tem Schulz or any of our state or federal legislators. Together, we can make a difference.
