On January 18 HUD published an implementation notice for several of the provisions in the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HOTMA), which was passed unanimously by Congress and signed into law by President Obama in July 2016. The notice seeks input on changes to HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher programs related to inspections, numerous project-basing flexibilities, income-mixing requirements and waiting list preferences. HUD is seeking public comments on the proposed implementation requirements and future changes to these programs by the deadline of March 20, 2017.
