President Trump and USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue have announced an interagency task force on agriculture and rural prosperity. The goal of the task force is to engage with stakeholders and develop an action plan for legislative reforms and regulatory relief focused on improving the quality of life in rural areas, encouraging innovation and technology development and helping communities thrive. President Trump has asked for a report with concrete recommendations within 180 days of the task force’s creation. As part of its efforts, the task force is asking for ideas and suggestions on legislative, regulatory and policy changes. NHC will be convening interested members to discuss possible responses and suggestions on July 13 at 1 p.m. EDT. Email Rebekah King to participate.
