The Senate Appropriations Committee is expected to vote on its Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 spending bill for affordable housing and community development on Thursday. While the text of the bill is not yet available, Subcommittee Chair Susan Collins (R-ME) has stated that the bill ensures continued assistance to all families and individuals currently receiving housing vouchers, provides level funding to the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnerships program, and increases funding for Homeless Assistance Grants. NLIHC will continue to keep advocates updated on the spending bill as it moves through Congress. More details can be found on the appropriations committee website.
