Last Chance to Sign On to the Section 4 Letter
Earlier this month, President Trump’s FY 2019 budget request proposed eliminating numerous vital housing and community development programs, including the Section 4 Capacity Building for Affordable Housing and Community Development Program. In order to reject the President’s request and continue funding the Section 4 program, Senators and Representatives need to hear just how important it is from advocates in their communities. Please join us in urging Congress to fund Section 4 at $40 million in FY 2019. The deadline for your organizations to sign on to the Section 4 letter is Thursday, March 1 at 5pm EST. If you have not yet done so, please sign your organization on now.
Section 4 is the only federal program that is exclusively focused on increasing the effectiveness of local community development organizations, through direct financial assistance, training, and guidance. And over the years, the demand for these key investments in low income communities has continued to grow. Please join us in advocating for this important program, and ensure Congress rejects the President’s Budget Request. Sign your organization on to the letter today.
