Recently, Senate Finance Committee staff Nick Wyatt and Adam Carasso joined the ACTION Campaign‘s Steering Committee at its quarterly meeting. Wyatt told the group, "Now is the time to keep pushing" for the full cap increase and other program changes in the Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act.
Both staffers spoke to the bipartisan support for the bill and the commitment of their bosses’ — Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR), respectively — to advance the legislation this year. They reminded the group that it is advocating from a "position of strength," having achieved the major accomplishments of the cap increase and income averaging in the FY 2018 omnibus appropriations bill.
The ACTION Campaign is a coalition of more than 2,100 national, state, and local organizations and businesses working to protect, expand, and strengthen the Housing Credit, co-chaired by NCSHA and Enterprise Community Partners.
