NOTICE OF FAIR HOUSING TRAINING REQUIREMENT FOR THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA 2019 QUALIFIED ALLOCATION PLAN (QAP)

The Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency (OHFA) will require Fair Housing Training in the 2019 QAP, for both Development and Management.

Development

One principal of each of the Developer, Architectural firm and General Contractor will be required to have completed training in Fair Housing Accessibility design and construction prior to application. Only specific classes will be acceptable, and those will be set forth in the 2019 QAP. OHFA will accept public comment regarding which training classes will be acceptable for this requirement.

OHFA will accept the training class on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Fair Housing Act accessibility and design requirements that will be conducted on August 21, 2018 at the Housing Conference of the Oklahoma Coalition for Affordable Housing (OCAH). OHFA will also accept the Fair Housing Accessibility First training presented in Tulsa, OK on May 1, 2018. Other classes will be considered. Public comment on other potential training classes will be accepted and considered.

Management

The proposed management company for any application for 2019 will also be required to have two individuals attend training on ADA and Fair Housing from the management perspective prior to application submittal. OHFA will accept public comment regarding which training classes will be acceptable for this requirement.

For the management training, OHFA will accept the training on ADA and Fair Housing for management that will be conducted on August 22, 2018 at the Housing Conference of the OCAH. Other classes will be considered. Public comment regarding potential classes is welcome.
