OK State Legislative Update

This year’s legislative session begins in just under two weeks, and all available legislation eligible to be heard this year was filed as of 4:00pm last Thursday. Together, the House and the Senate introduced 2,773 individual pieces of legislation and 42 Joint Resolutions. Thus far, our Government Affairs Chair & Vice-Chair have identified four key pieces of legislation affecting the Oklahoma Affordable Housing Act (State LIHTC).

HB1264 – Hilbert – removes 150k population cap and reduces the credit to 5 years instead of 10

HB1411 – Nichols – removes 150k population cap

SB416 – Bice – reduces credit from 10 years to 5 years

SB786 – Smalley – removes 150k population cap, changes carryforward to 2 years instead of 5 after 2020

With over 2,700 bill available to move through the process this year, there will obviously be other measures we will monitor throughout the session. We will be communicating with all of our members as we move forward on issues that face our businesses. If you have a piece of legislation that you believe would be of interest to OCAH members, please forward on to our Coalition Manager, Andrea Flowers-Householter at: ocah We want to ensure sure you are engaged and knowledgeable at all times. Check our blog and social media frequently for updates and notifications.

We anticipate a more extensive update by Friday, February 1, 2018. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions, or concerns.

Save the date for our 2019 Affordable Housing Day at the State Capitol – it will be on Thursday, April 11, 2019!
