OCAH Recipient of the NLIHC 2021 State and Local Organizing Award…

OCAH is proud to announce that we are the recipient of the NLICH 2021 State and Local Organizing Award. We are receiving this award for our successful organizing to block House Bill 2760 in 2020. The legislation would have cut funding in half for the Oklahoma Affordable Housing Act retroactive to January 2020, leaving hundreds of people living in sub-standard housing or being severely housing cost-burdened. We were able to effectively advocate against HB2760 by producing materials our members to use in outreach to legislators and on social media. Governor Kevin Stitt vetoed the legislation, preserving funding for state affordable housing tax credits. Click Here to read full press.

Andrea Frymire, inaugural Coalition Board President and Government Affairs Vice-Chair, will be speaking tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. during the NLICHC Virtual Housing Forum. You can still register to listen in! Thank you for all of our members for helping us advocate for affordable housing across our state and for helping the Coalition receive this prestigious award. We couldn’t have done it without you!
