HOME UA Calculation due to OHFA July 31, 2021

Below is a link for the final HOME Utility Allowance (UA) policy for all RENTAL commitments (Written Agreements) that were signed on or after August 23, 2013.

When submitting the UA to OHFA, please submit a cover sheet summarizing the information. A sample cover sheet is attached. Here is the summary information needed:

1. HOME contract #
2. UA method used (Provider Estimate, HUSM etc.)
3. Unit size and Address (if multiple addresses / single family homes)
4. Total $ of UA

FYI: OHFA requests this information since some homes on the same contract have different utilities (i.e. electric resistance vs. electric heat pump). OHFA does not automatically know this information and may end up calculating a higher UA than intended.

The due date for all UA’s, applicable to this policy, is July 31, 2021.

If these documents are more than 15 pages, please mail to the OHFA office address. Any contracts that are late could impact future funding. so if you are unsure if a UA calculation is due, please contact OHFA.
