Federal Update: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration Issues Vaccine Rule

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration Issues Vaccine Rule

For companies with 100 or more employees, OSHA issued the highly anticipated rule that all employees must be vaccinated by Jan. 4, 2022, or get tested weekly for coronavirus. Companies that fail to comply could be faced with penalties and the rule will apply to roughly 84 million workers in the nation. Other rules will apply to another estimated 17 million people who work in facilities that receive money from Medicare and Medicaid. Those workers will not have an option for testing and will be required to be vaccinated.

Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor joined 20 other attorneys general by sending a letter to President Biden to challenge the Biden Administration’s mandatory vaccination requirement for federal contractors.

He also filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration over illegal vaccine mandates for private sector employees.
