Catholic Charities in dire need of rental homes for Afghan families, especially single-family homes. Currently, Catholic Charities is placing over 800 individuals into the community. They need special assistance for 10 Afghan families that range from 6 to 10 individuals in their households. Homes are needed immediately because the household size is too large to be accommodated by apartments. These large families are currently in hotels and have been there for as long as 60 days. The homes may be located anywhere in the Tulsa Metro Area, but access to transportation and amenities such as grocery stores is preferred.
Community Cares Partners is committed to providing financial assistance for Afghan families to help them obtain and maintain stable housing. Financial assistance is available for application fees, deposits, and rental payments for up to 18 months. There is no cap on the monthly rental assistance that may be provided, though Catholic Charities would prefer homes that are available at $2,200 per month or less.
If you have any rental units available that could provide homes for Afghan families, please contact Judy Scheel at juscheel.
